The vineyard Geographical location: The area covered by the Anjou Villages AOC stretches across 43 communes in the Maine-et-Loire and 3 in the Deux-Sèvres. The de-limited area incorporates the areas of the AOC Coteaux du Layon, Anjou Coteaux de la Loire and Savennières AOC’s, as well as certain border limit communes. |

Surface area: 200 ha (500 acres) History: This terroir is a group of selected lands within the Anjou AOC. The healthiest and earliest well-exposed soils have been included within in its limits. Soils: Mainly on schist soils, possibly covered with a layer of gravel formations. Climate : Moderate oceanic climate. |

The wine Annual production: 6,000 hl Basic yield: 55 hl/ha Grape varieties: Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Dominant growing practices: Density of 4,100 plants/ha. Single or double Guyot pruning.
Tasting Sensorial characteristics: Deep ruby red appearance. Fine notes of red fruits and flowers (iris, violet) developing towards complex aromas (black fruits and earthy undergrowth). Sometimes fresh and finely tannic on the palate, although with an ample and fleshy tendency. Serving temperature: 16-17°C Ageing potential: Most blossom after being kept for 8 to 10 years. | |
